Egg-cellent Food and How to Make It

 

‘Egg-cellent Food’ is a pop-up recipe book and mobile app which facilitates food education through interaction and play. Aimed at encouraging children to get involved in the kitchen in the bid to improve their nutritional intake, food literacy and general cooking skills.

‘Egg-cellent Food’ is my university Honours project. It is the product of a year’s worth of participatory design research and iterative development.

The project focused on investigating ways that children and families could access food education and increase nutritional literacy, without needing the money or time to do so. I tested the recipes and activities with children in an educational setting, and the work was supported by both participatory design methods and desktop research.

I received a mark of 83 and was placed on the Dean’s List for this project.
